How can my intermediate license be suspended?

To answer that question fully, I think it’s important to define what an intermediate license is. An intermediate license in the State of Washington is any driver ages 16 or 17. That license can be suspended very quickly if that intermediate driver picks up traffic infractions.

If your son or daughter gets one traffic infraction, you’ll get a warning letter from the Department of Licensing. That will be their one and only warning. A second traffic infraction will result in a six-month suspension or until they reach the age of 18, whichever comes sooner.

Finally, if your son or daughter gets a third traffic violation while they’re on their intermediate license, it will result in a straight suspension until they reach the age of 18.

If you find yourself with a traffic infraction as an intermediate driver or you’re a parent of a child that has gotten traffic infractions and they’re the ages of 16 or 17, it is imperative that you call the law offices of Barbara Bowden to help you fight the ticket to make sure it doesn’t go on the record and to make sure they keep on driving.
