Is it possible to lose my Washington driving privileges with too many traffic ticket convictions?

There are a few ways that you can lose your license in the State of Washington for too many traffic infractions. The first way is getting too many traffic infractions over a span of a 12-month period. If you get six moving violations within a 12-month period, you will lose your license in 60 days.

You can also be put on probation if you get four moving violations in a 12-month period or five moving violations within a 24-month period. You can also be classified as a habitual traffic offender or HTO, for short. A habitual traffic offender is someone who gets 20 moving violations over a span of five years.

Obviously, we urge every client to fight every ticket they receive. But if you find yourself not fighting the ticket and then subsequently getting new tickets, it’s important that you call a good traffic ticket attorney that can help you through the process and make sure that these stay off your record.
