Are you allowed to have marijuana in your vehicle?

If you are found with less than one ounce of marijuana in your vehicle, you aren’t at risk for fines or incarceration. If you have anywhere from 1 ounce to 40 grams of marijuana in your car, you can be charged with a misdemeanor. If you have more than that, you can be charged with felony charges. If you are underage, the consequences could be even worse, involving license suspensions and more.

If you are a marijuana user and you are worried that you could be charged with a marijuana DUI, it could best to ensure that even if you have the legal amount or less  of pot in your vehicle, and  that it is not necessarily in sight of officers. For example, if you are pulled over, but show no signs of impairment, but the officers see marijuana in your front seat (even if it is the legal amount), you could be put through the paces of the blood tests.
